In addition, Spanish has a number of different ways to use articles such as “the” that are not consistent with English. For example, Spanish nouns have a gender (masculine or feminine) whereas English nouns do not. However, due to the differences in the two languages some changes have been made to try to accurately represent each language. This Spanish version is very similar to the English MultiChat 15 Student file. MultiChat 15 Spanish – MultiChat 15 Spanish is the student version developed for the Nova Chat & Chat Fusion devices. More information about Indigo and Indigo Cotton can be found online. Indigo partners with growers to provide consumers with cotton that has been grown in a way that is sensitive to water use.” “These results show that growing Indigo’s rain-fed cotton in water-stressed areas is less risky and more profitable than before. “Indigo Cotton has demonstrated an average yield improvement of 11% in West Texas fields, where water scarcity is prevalent,” said Barry Knight, head of Commercial Operations, North America. Since Indigo Cotton performs at its best when planted on farms utilizing rain-fed systems, it not only serves to elevate crop yields, but also reinforces water-efficient farm management practices. Its long-lasting, but fully removable and recyclable, making it great for kids rooms and nurseries, rental spaces, and accent walls. The basis of Indigo technology – a natural seed coating designed to enhance crop performance in water-stressed conditions – is a breakthrough innovation for environmental stewardship in farming. Spoonflower Pre-Pasted wallpaper is a durable paper with a smooth finish and a water-activated adhesive backing. With the launch of the Indigo Cotton offer, we’re one step closer to transforming a standard commodity into a specialty good – one that simultaneously strengthens farm incomes, satisfies consumers and supports environmental sustainability.”Ĭotton Companion Podcast: How Unprecedented Politics Could Impact a New Farm Bill “Millions of rural livelihoods around the world rely on cotton production. I’m Marni Martin-McTavish and along with my husband, Ian, and our children, Liam and Avalon, we grow our flowers on land that we share a deep connection to and fortunately for us my parents, Murray and Linda Martin, live across the field and are a vital part of the flower farm. “Indigo’s model – available to growers of Indigo Corn, Indigo Soybeans, Indigo Rice, Indigo Wheat and now Indigo Cotton – streamlines the supply chain from field to the consumer,” said David Perry, Indigo president and CEO. The Indigo offer in cotton goes beyond price premiums to provide season-long support in the form of customized agronomy. Indigo links producers to buyers and end consumers who are prepared to spend more for the assurances of sustainability, quality, and nutrition. The Indigo Cotton offer illustrates the company’s broader approach of tapping into rising consumer demand for sustainably-sourced and identity-preserved food and fiber. Through Indigo’s microbial technology and a higher premium, growers will benefit from higher yields and higher prices. Back testing Indigo’s production offer since 2010 versus past cotton market prices indicates that a grower could have received 10% more revenue per pound on average. This offer provides a potential and substantial revenue boost for cotton growers, for whom premiums typically differ by fractions of a cent. The two strands of DNA run in opposite directions to each other and are thus antiparallel. A large part of DNA (more than 98% for humans) is non-coding, meaning that these sections do not serve as patterns for protein sequences. This information is replicated when the two strands separate. In DNA, the pyrimidines are thymine and cytosine the purines are adenine and guanine.īoth strands of double-stranded DNA store the same biological information. The complementary nitrogenous bases are divided into two groups, the single-ringed pyrimidines and the double-ringed purines. The nitrogenous bases of the two separate polynucleotide strands are bound together, according to base pairing rules (A with T and C with G), with hydrogen bonds to make double-stranded DNA. The nucleotides are joined to one another in a chain by covalent bonds (known as the phosphodiester linkage) between the sugar of one nucleotide and the phosphate of the next, resulting in an alternating sugar-phosphate backbone. Each nucleotide is composed of one of four nitrogen-containing nucleobases ( cytosine, guanine, adenine or thymine ), a sugar called deoxyribose, and a phosphate group. The two DNA strands are known as polynucleotides as they are composed of simpler monomeric units called nucleotides. Alongside proteins, lipids and complex carbohydrates ( polysaccharides), nucleic acids are one of the four major types of macromolecules that are essential for all known forms of life. DNA and ribonucleic acid (RNA) are nucleic acids. The polymer carries genetic instructions for the development, functioning, growth and reproduction of all known organisms and many viruses. These values drop to ~90 percent identity and ~77 percent identity when looking at human and mouse genomes, consistent with the older divergence point between these lineages.Deoxyribonucleic acid ( / d iː ˈ ɒ k s ɪ ˌ r aɪ b oʊ nj uː ˌ k l iː ɪ k, - ˌ k l eɪ-/ ⓘ DNA) is a polymer composed of two polynucleotide chains that coil around each other to form a double helix. The higher similarity in coding regions/exons is consistent with the increased evolutionary selective constraint that would be placed on these protein-coding sequences. Introns and exons: Estimates of human-chimpanzee percent identify of introns and exons are 97 and 99, respectively other estimates give 98.3 percent identity in noncoding regions and >99.5 percent identity in coding regions. When looking at amino acid sequences of particular gene families, though, the similarity may be much lower human genes with transcription factor activity, for example, have been shown to have nearly 50% more amino acid changes than such genes in chimpanzees. These estimates of identity are higher than for more distantly related species (93% for old world monkeys, 89% for new world monkeys), but lower than those for intraspecies inter-individual variation.Īmino acid sequence: the percent identity between humans and chimpanzees in amino acid sequence is higher than that for DNA sequence, with estimates over 99%, and it has been proposed that 29% of encoded proteins are identical between the species. The differences found between species are not distributed evenly across the genome, and chromosome Y, chromosomal ends and CpG dinucleotide repeats show higher divergence than others regions. Given that many of these studies used a small sample size of each species, it is plausible that the percent identity is underestimated due to individual polymorphisms present in each population. Genomic DNA sequence: most estimates of percent identity between humans and chimpanzees put the full genomic percent identity at 98-99%, although estimates as low as 95% have been put forth when including insertions and deletions and a recent study comparing the completed genomes of the two found a 96% identity. The percent identity of genomic DNA sequence, intron and exon sequence, and amino acid sequence between humans and other species varies by species type, with chimpanzee having the highest percent identity with humans of all species in each category. Closely related species are expected to have a higher percent identity for a given sequence than would more distantly related species, and thus percent identity to a degree reflects relatedness. Percent identity refers to a quantitative measurement of the similarity between two sequences (DNA, amino acid or otherwise). Sheer glow on the other hand, is my holy grail foundation. In addition, I feel Loreal’s True Match Foundation is actually a great dupe for the Luminous Silk – if not better (!!) – than it’s pricer counterpart (I will be reviewing this soon). In my opinion, I don’t understand the hype with the Armani foundation – it is not a bad foundation but it is no amazing and it certainly isn’t £40-amazing. Too pricey, however it does come with a pump and a pretty frosted-glass packaging (if you feel that justify the splurge). I don’t think any foundation should cost this much in all honesty, especially not one that doesn’t blow you away. The only downside is that it does not come with a pump! Sounds like minor setback – but when you’re forking out over £30 for some liquid, the least it can do is come with a pump.Īrmani retails at a whopping £40 and this was the reason I was so hesitant, as a student, to invest at first. The NARS retails at £31 which I personally think is worth it for how good of a foundation this is. These are both high-end and pricey foundations. Armani on the other hand, is not as good with longevity and after a few hours is patchy and needs either topping up or powdering down. Sheer glow lasts all day on my combination skin but needs to be set with a powder and towards the end of the day is a little oilier. The feel of both of these are much of a muchness in my opinion – both extremely lightweight on the skin! Given that neither of these are matte foundations, the longevity isn’t the best. Instead it provides more of a dewy, shiny look which I personally don’t like. The finish isn’t ‘bad’ but I wouldn’t say it gives a ‘glow’ like the NARS. This foundation has been branded a foundation that gives you a ‘glow from within’ and a miracle complexion. It also leaves your skin looking flawless – I never receive as many skin compliments as I do when wearing this foundation.Īrmani on the other hand, gives a dewy finish and somewhere between light-medium coverage. The foundation really gives a glow-y, natural finish whilst not looking oily or greasy. However, I am a HUGE fan of the finish and for me, NARS is the clear winner here. WITHOUT FLASH: Armani Shade 6 (left) and NARS Stomboli (Right) WITH FLASH: Armani Shade 6 (left) and NARS Stromboli (Right)ĭespite being branded as a ‘sheer glow’ the NARS foundation actually leaves a satin-y and medium coverage finish to the skin. On the other hand, Luminous Silk is a better match – perhaps a little too olive-y (see below) – but also caters to a wide range of shades and undertones. Having spoken to many friends and from reading other blogs – many people cannot find their exact match with NARS. Stromboli is my closest match but I often have to mix it with either lightening drops or other foundations to achieve my perfect colour. Whilst NARS cater to a variety of shades and undertones and as someone with a warm complexion I was surprised to find that the yellow undertone shades are actually too yellow for me. I have to say the Luminous Silk is a better match for me here. I am the shade Stromboli in NARS and number 6 in the luminous silk. However, having tried and tested the two foundations over a long period of time, I thought it would be useful to compare and contrast. As a long-standing fan of NARS Sheer Glow, I was recommended by many to try the Luminous Silk foundation and promised to be a convert. These are two foundations that have received a LOT of hype. “It’s sad and disheartening because, first of all, today, more than ever, the school system has the money and the resources.
